It’s no secret that Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy isn’t a very popular guy to the fan base.

As Bears fans continue to crave Justin Fields, Nagy continues to stand by veteran Andy Dalton as his quarterback. And the team doesn’t look anywhere near the contender they were supposed to be two years ago.

So is Matt Nagy finally going to shown the door? Well, sports books are beginning to expect it.

After beginning the year behind a few coaches who were early favorites to be fired (Mike McCarthy, Vic Fangio, Mike Zimmer), Nagy is now the favorite to be the first coach in the NFL to get canned this season.

Matt Nagy’s first chance to prove that he was the right guy to bring the Chicago Bears back to prominence was a swing-and-a-miss on Sunday night against the Rams.

Nagy’s offense continued to sputter, and the Bears defense is no where near the dominant unit they had been in years past.

The head coach might try to hang his hat on Justin Field, and point to his progression as a reason why the Bears brass should keep him around after this season.

But if sports books are any indication, it’s looking less likely that even Justin Fields having success would save Matt Nagy’s job.
