Former NFL tight end Martellus Bennett was always a little out there. But his latest Twitter tangent might have hit a new level, even for him. I have now read the whole thing ten times, and still can’t make much sense out of it. Here’s what he had to say on this fine Saturday afternoon.

“Everything would be dead today if it weren’t for the creativity of the many yesterdays. Creativity is the only reason we are alive. Creativity is the only way our futures can be better than our yesterdays and our todays. But creativity can also kill us all.

To be creative is to be powerful. You can Create the world you wish to see. You can create cures, entertainment, life saving technologies etc. or you could create guns, bombs, and other tools of mass destruction.

Both beauty and destruction are results of creativity. To have a better future we must become a more creative society. The crisis of imagination. Lacking the ability to reimagine the world in which we live in is a major issue,” Martellus Bennett wrote in his rant.

Either Martellus Bennett is a smart guy who’s onto something the rest of us don’t think about, or he has just been smoking too much weed lately. I’m gonna say it’s a little bit of both. Never change, Martellus.
