Atlanta Braves outfielder Marcell Ozuna was arrested over the weekend and charged with assault and battery under the Domestic Violence Act following a heated dispute with his wife.

While the original report didn’t reveal much, some new troubling details have been released on what occurred between Marcell Ozuna and his wife.

Per TMZ:

New details in the Marcell Ozuna domestic violence arrest — cops say his wife claimed the MLB star threatened to kill her during a heated dispute “over an infidelity.”

It’s all in the booking report obtained by TMZ Sports … in which Sandy Springs Police Officers describe what happened when they arrived to the Atlanta Braves star’s Georgia home on May 29.

Two officers say they responded to a report of a domestic dispute — and the alleged victim told them 30-year-old Ozuna had “took both her cell phones from the bathroom while she showered without her consent.”

According to the report, Ozuna’s wife claims he ‘threatened to kill’ her after she asked for the outfielder to give her cell phone back.

When cops arrived, they saw Marcell Ozuna strangling his wife, and immediately arrested him.

The Atlanta Braves quickly released a statement, saying they were fully cooperating with the investigation.

Marcell Ozuna had been on the IL. But it looks like it he might have more time away from baseball than we all originally expected.
