Over the offseason, MLB outfielder Marcell Ozuna was the subject of a troubling story after a video circulating the web saw him putting hands on his wife last year.

Since arriving in Spring Training for the Braves, Marcell Ozuna has shown remorse in his actions. And he hopes to win back the trust of his teammates.

“I said I’m sorry. I made a mistake,” Ozuna said he told teammates.

Marcell Ozuna also pleaded with fans not to judge him on the domestic violence video.

“I would just tell them, treat me as the person I was before,” the two-time All-Star said. “Like, I was an amazing person out and in the field. So I’m going to be like that.”

Marcell Ozuna has been away from the MLB ever since he was arrested for abusing his wife last May.

Since, the charges have been relegated to misdemeanor family violence charges. He agreed to take an anger management course and complete at least 200 hours of community service — along with being placed on 6 months of supervision.

At the time, the MLB suspended Marcell Ozuna 20 games. But being as it was retroactive to the incident, he’ll be free to play in games once the season begins.

He’s expected to be on the Braves’ Opening Day roster.
