Manchester United Needed A Bevy Of Police To Get Through To Rome

Manchester United protests Old Trafford

Manchester United had to make do with a guard of safety as they made their way to the airport this afternoon.

Last Sunday, a large amount of supporters had stormed Old Trafford in protests, calling for the head of the club’s American owners the Glazers, and as a result making a number of high-profile security breaches.

Manchester United will face AS Roma in the second leg of their Europa League clash tomorrow evening, but tension still remains after the revolt of Sunday, which led to the calling off of unarguably the biggest game of the round.

And just in case anyone was at the airport to steer more trouble today, there was a noticeable increase in police presence as the Red Devils prepared to jet off.

You guess a number of fans are still pissed with the Glazers, and will stop at nothing till they are out. This doesn’t look good, if it’s gotten to that.
