Pitcher Gavin Weir led South Dakota’s Sioux Falls Little League team to a 2-0 win over Louisiana at the LLWS on Friday. Weir struck out 15 batters in 5.2 innings before a teammate finished off the game for the combined no-hitter. Weir has been dominant throughout the district, regionals and LLWS. His style is already drawing comparisons to an MLB pitcher.

Weir’s mechanics look strikingly similar to that of Red Sox pitcher Chris Sale.

Pitching Ninja put together a side-by-side video of Weir and the Red Sox pitcher following that win over Louisiana.

Watch below:

Both pitchers have nearly the same mechanics, cadence and release point.

That’s a match.
