Ja’Marr Chase is quickly turning into one of the best receivers in the NFL in just his first season in the league.
The rookie wideout has picked up right where he left off with LSU teammate Joe Burrow –– who have developed one of the best connections in the entire league. Chase is currently the favorite to take home this year’s Offensive Rookie of the Year honors after a dominant inaugural season.
But it wasn’t always smooth sailing for Ja’Marr Chase. Prior to this weekend’s Conference Championship matchup against the Chiefs, Chase revealed that before he went to LSU, he was told by then-coach Les Miles that he was not going to make it as a wideout.
Asked Ja'Marr Chase about one of his biggest motivators growing up:
"Les Miles told me I couldn’t play receiver when I was coming out of high school." #Bengals @fox19

Ja’Marr Chase Got Last Laugh On Les Miles
Things went a little differently for Les Miles and Ja’Marr Chase.
After being involved in a couple of different controversies, Miles now finds himself out of a job. While Burrow and Chase were able to win the National Championship at LSU without him as their head coach. And now, Ja’Marr makes his living tormenting cornerbacks on a weekly basis.
It’s safe to say that Les Miles was wrong about Ja’Marr Chase. Very, very wrong.
