LeBron James isn’t afraid to share his activism on his social media page. But this time, fans think he may have taken it too far. After Derek Chauvin was found guilty on all three counts in the murder of George Floyd, LeBron tweeted, “you’re next” to an Ohio cop who is under investigation after killing teenage girl Makiah Bryant. He quickly deleted the tweet after the backlash.

As is the case with a lot of these cop-related killings, people are split on their reaction to LeBron’s post.

On behalf of pro athletes, current and former, I apologize for how #LeBronJames just showed his inner Maxine Waters and made a very real, ongoing threat to the life of the officer who quickly acted to prevent a knife attack from becoming worse. Many of us appreciate what LEOs do!

Lebron James is inciting violence against an Ohio police officer.
This is disgraceful and dangerous.
Is the NBA okay with this? Is Twitter?

Remember when Lebron James gate was vandalized with the n-word and he had no security footage of the incident and painted it over before police arrived.
He’s “upped his game” by threatening the life of a police officer.

That Lebron tweet is legitimately insane.

LeBron in 2019 on Daryl Morey's tweets supporting Hong Kong:
"So many people could have been harmed…so just be careful what we tweet, what we say…we do have freedom of speech but there can be a lot of negative that comes with that, too."
He should listen to his own advice. pic.twitter.com/j1TVvHnCkf

LeBron James spoke on why he took the tweet down, and admitted some fault.
ANGER does any of us any good and that includes myself! Gathering all the facts and educating does though! My anger still is here for what happened that lil girl. My sympathy for her family and may justice prevail! 🙏🏾✊🏾🤎👑

I’m so damn tired of seeing Black people killed by police. I took the tweet down because its being used to create more hate -This isn’t about one officer. it’s about the entire system and they always use our words to create more racism. I am so desperate for more ACCOUNTABILITY

LeBron James should not have tweeted this out without having gathered all of the facts first. Hopefully he knows he made a mistake, and understands how he has too big of a platform to spread things like this without knowing every last detail.
