LeBron James and the Lakers had a great deal of hype surrounding them going into the 2020 NBA season. They were able to live up to expectations by winning the Finals. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said of the other team in Los Angeles. Pretty much the entire basketball world expected to see a Clippers vs. Lakers showdown for the Western Conference Finals. However, the Clippers were unable to slam the door on the Nuggets, despite a commanding 3-1 lead. During an appearance on the ‘Road Trippin Podcast,’ LeBron James shared his thoughts on the Clippers’ collapse in the conference semifinals.

“They put themselves in a position to get what they been talking s**t about all year,” LeBron James said. “I couldn’t fathom or come to the realization that they didn’t seek that opportunity right there. I believe they were coached for that. I just did not see them losing, just like everyone else in the basketball world.”

It is fun to hear LeBron James speak out as a fan of the game. We all as fans had that same oh s*it moment when the Clippers lost game 6 to the Nuggets. I can only imagine what it would be like as LeBron James watching the best storyline of last season crumble right before your eyes.
We all wanted and expected to see LeBron James and the Lakers face off against Kawhi Leonard and the Clippers with the Finals on the line. Maybe we will get a chance to see that this year, however, the stakes will not be quite the same.
