Lane Kiffin Reportedly Prepared To Leave Ole Miss If Miami Came Calling

Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin took to social media to troll new LSU head coach Brian Kelly over an extremely award video of him dancing with a recruit

Could Lane Kiffin be on the move, yet again?

The Ole Miss head coach has had great success putting the team – specifically the offense – back on the map in the SEC.

But as we’ve seen all throughout his career, Kiffin is a rambling man, and he isn’t afraid of leaving a post if a better opportunity arrises.

And according to one insider, he’s eyeing a potential opening in college football. Yahoo Sports reporter Dan Wentzel said that a member of the board of the Miami Hurricanes has told him that Lane Kiffin is a top candidate to replace Manny Diaz as head coach.

“I texted my best Miami source, or certainly the most interesting Miami source, in Nevin Shapiro,” Wetzel said, via the Clarion Ledger. “Nevin is claiming that the top candidate is Lane Kiffin with Randy Shannon as the defensive coordinator.”

Lane Kiffin has not spoken on these rumors yet, but we’ll be sure to track that when/if it happens.

He was the head coach at FAU for a few years, so it’s not surprising that he’d have his sights set on a prominent Florida school, given that he already has a keen understanding of the recruiting in the state.

Sure, Ole Miss is a great college football job. But being able to turn “The U” around would make Lane Kiffin an absolute legend.

Miami needs a big-time presence as their next head coach, and they’d be making a slam dunk move if they were able to poach Kiffin.
