Former NFL Quarterback Kyle Orton Trending For An Absurd Reason

Former NFL journeyman quarterback Kyle Orton is trending on Monday for a rather absurd reason that has to do with Tom Brady's 600th TD

22 SEPTEMBER 2013: Dallas Cowboys quarterback Kyle Orton (18) prior to a regular season NFL football game between the St. Louis Rams and Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX.

Former NFL journeyman quarterback Kyle Orton was a fan-favorite over his career with the Bears and Broncos. But he was most definitely not elite.

Still, that didn’t stop the social media team at CBS from putting him on a list among the NFL’s ‘legendary’ quarterbacks. The list was thrown together to make a point about how ridiculous Tom Brady’s 600 touchdowns really are.

Of course, fans had many jokes about Kyle Orton being put on a list that included a bunch of Hall of Famers.

Kyle Orton was certainly beloved in Chicago when he played an integral role in taking the team to the Super Bowl in 2006. But putting him on that list feels like someone at CBS was trying to troll everyone, or just get a rise out of the crowd on social media.

If that was the case, mission accomplished.

No one knows what Kyle Orton has been up to during his retirement, but perhaps he has some old friends working over at CBS who are chuckling about all of this.
