Kobe Bryant was remembered and missed a little bit more this week.
Monday marked “The Mamba’s” 43rd birthday. And yesterday we all celebrated “Kobe day” 8/24 (because Bryant wore both #8 and #24 during his storied career).
On Monday, the Los Angeles Lakers did a pretty cool things for a bunch of newborn babies in the area who will now share the same birthday as Kobe Bryant.
The Lakers sent goodie bags to families who were celebrating the birth of a child, which included some Kobe player shirts, beanies, and more merch.

“Welcome to the world! On this special day, we want to honor Kobe Bryant and celebrate you. Kobe loved his family, and so this Kobe Day we’re giving you and your family three Mamba shirts: two for your loved ones and one for you to grow into someday,” read the note presented to the families. “Lakers Family is for life.”
Kobe Bryant’s widow, Vanessa Bryant, was clearly a fan of the gesture, and posted her own take by the cool move the Lakers did for LA newborns this week.
“@kobebryant day #MambaDay 8•24 @lakers 💜💛 @uclamch,” she wrote on Instagram.
Kobe Bryant is gone way too soon, but he will never be forgotten.
It would be pretty cool if the Lakers kept this tradition going every year on Kobe’s birthday.
