It was shaping up to be a good day for Klay Thompson and the Golden State Warriors. They are going to be picking #2 overall in tonight’s NBA Draft. They planned to pair their new rising star with a healthy Steph and Klay for next season. That plan looks like it could be ruined.

This could be an absolute dagger for the Warriors and their fans. It’s obviously too early to tell the severity of Klay’s injury, but early indication is that it could be bad for the sharp shooter.

Lebron James took to Twitter to voice his support of Klay Thompson.

I think we can all join Lebron James in praying that Klay’s injury is “super minor”. The league is better when the best players get to showcase their skills. I don’t care if you love or hate the Warriors, but Klay is one of the best two way players in the NBA.

We’ll see if the Klay Thompson news affects how the Warriors plan to go about their draft tonight. You would think they’re already set on whoever they want to take, but you never know. If Klay is seriously hurt, trading down in the draft could be less likely for the Warriors.

If Anthony Edwards is available with the #2 overall pick, he might be able to fill a little bit of the void at shooting guard. Klay would be leaving a monster void to fill, though. You can’t expect anyone to fill his shoes.
