Sometimes it takes a fight to shake things up. A crazy sidelines fight broke out Thursday afternoon between Mississippi State and Tulsa during the Armed Forces Bowl. The skirmish was brewing pregame too.

ESPN’s college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit had a good idea why the fight actually started. He believes it had something to do with players having their shirts off before the game. His plan? Ban players from taking of their shirts before the game, because in his opinion, it leads to fights.
Watch him explain below:
“I think we all agree this is an embarrassment not only for these two teams but for college football,”. “We see this more and more in college football … coming out in pregame without a shirt on. That needs to be banned in college football. That’s just not coming out with your shirts off. That’s sending a message to your opponent. I remember Penn State vs. Ohio State a year ago, it adds to the chippiness of the game …

The internet did not necessarily agree with his hot take:
Kirk Herbstreit thinks guys not wearing shirts pregame causes fights postgame. I’m really unclear as to the connection between those two things.

This has to be the worst take I’ve ever heard 😂😂 Kirk Herbstreit said this fight happened partially bc the players had their shirts off in pregame and that should be banned

Wait, so Tulsa started it during warmups, they had personal fouls throughout the game, and you say the refs should have gotten control… but somehow LEACH is the one who should be embarrassed? Get outta here with that shit, Herbstreit. He’s defending his players publicly.

Not sure shirtless players had anything to do with the fight. Players can be just as chippy with their shirts on.
