If you were to envision an actor playing New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton in a movie, Kevin James wouldn’t really be near the top of the list. But according to reports, James is gearing up for a role in a new movie about Sean Payton’s year off of coaching in the NFL due to a suspension.

Sean Payton was famously suspended in 2012 after the “bountygate” scandal where Saints players were getting paid to hit, and ultimately injure their opponents. After Payton’s suspension, he spent the year coaching his sons 6th grade football team. Thats where Kevin James comes in.
Kevin James is going to play Saints coach Sean Payton in a Netflix movie called "Home Team."
The movie is based on when Payton was suspended in 2012 and coached his son's sixth-grade football team.

According to Yahoo Sports, the film will be produced by Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison Productions, so I wouldn’t expect it to be too serious.
The name of the movie will be titled, “Home Team”, and it will be released on Netflix. The date of the movie’s release has yet to be announced, but most are expecting that “Home Team” will hit Netflix sometime this year.
Who knows? Maybe Kevin James can help Sean Payton become a little bit more likable around NFL circles.
