Kevin Durant And The Warriors Reflect Prior To Reunion Game: ‘I’ll Always Be A Warrior In My Heart’

Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant discusses NBA days with Golden State Warriors

Do we have a Kevin Durant revenge game on NBA opening night? I don’t know if you can quite call it that, but the Brooklyn Nets star forward is excited to finally play with his new team. He’ll also be sentimental playing against his former team, the Golden State Warriors.

“These bonds that we created will never be broken no matter what jerseys we put on, no matter what part of the country we all live in,” Durant said of his Warriors teammates via SF Gate. “I’ll always be a Warrior in my heart,” he said, before closing the interview by saying, “I definitely miss my guys, I can’t lie.”

Kevin Durant was known to butt heads with Draymond Green during his tenure in the bay, but it appears all of that is behind them now, and everyone is just happy to see Durant back healthy.

Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry spoke about his time with Durant ahead of their marquee matchup tonight.

“It’s going to be great knowing he’s coming back from his injury,” Curry said via The New York Post. “That was a big part of our success, feeding off each other, that energy and pursuit of greatness every day. When you see it up close and personal, you have no choice but to meet that level. That was a huge part of it for sure.”

I’d expect a lot of smiles and mutual respect between Kevin Durant, the Brooklyn Nets and the Warriors tonight. After all, Durant played a huge part in the Warrios’ NBA title successes.
