Julian Bass Viral Effects Video Sensation; Miles Morales Spider-Man by Twitter Acclamation?

This is one of those stories that restores your faith a bit and reminds you what the internet should be. If you were on social media on Thursday night you might have seen a young person named Julian Bass blowing up with a viral video. With over 6.3 million views the video has gotten some major attention. Here’s how you can replicate this success in five easy steps.

Know Digital Effects and Create a Killer Video the Way Julian Bass Did

I can’t stress enough how important the years you’ve spent learning digital effects will be for your video here. It would also be a good idea to have a tremendous amount of talent. Make sure to demonstrate your charisma physical chops and acting ability along the way.

Julian Bass clearly knows computer graphics but is also able to perfectly capture the vibe and mechanics of the three characters we see.

Ask the Internet a Small Favor, Get a Celebrity Response

You’re going to want the help of some influencers and connected celebrities along the way.

Comic and pop-culture guru Patton Oswalt approved.

As did Disney’s own Josh Gad.

And the director of the Guardians of the Galaxy movies.

500,000 Likes and 250,000 Retweets and You’re Most of the Way There

Once you start hitting numbers like these you’re landing in everyone’s feed and it’s only a matter of time before the people who decide these things notice.

Julian Bass got a Twitter response from Sony, as in the company that owns the rights to Spider-Man in the movies, the folks who have released 3.5 good Spider-Man movies out of six tries. They’re also the company that shares Peter Parker with the Marvel Cinematic Universe that Disney owns and operates. We know Miles Morales exists in the MCU because we met his uncle Aaron, played by Donald Glover, in Spider-Man: Homecoming, and they very deliberately mentioned his nephew. In a deleted scene they went a step further, showing Aaron calling Miles on the phone and using his name.

But having Sony on board only gets us most of the way there. It was Disney that Julian Bass asked for.

Don’t Mess Around, Go Straight to the Top

Yep, that’s Bob Iger, Executive Chairman of The Walt Disney Company, owners of everything you’ve ever seen and every entertainment industry idea that is yet to be created. This guy can snap his fingers and make you a Jedi. Make you Spider-Man. Literally make dreams come true. Well, probably not you, he doesn’t need you or me, he’s got Julian Bass.

Shoot Your Shot

How can you not root for this kid now? The internet has spoken, Julian Bass is our live action Miles Morales and should probably be a Jedi too. Get to know the name.
