Jon Jones Wants A Lot More Money From UFC To Fight Francis Ngannou

After Francis Ngannou beat Stipe Miocic for the UFC heavyweight belt this past weekend, many fans thought we were set up for what could be one of the biggest UFC fights of all-time–Ngannou Vs. Jon Jones.

Jones sent out a lot of tweets indicating that he’s down to fight Francis Ngannou, but only at the right price. Unfortunately, the UFC and Jones remain far apart on the potential contract.

Jon Jones said he has talked to UFC businessman Hunter Campbell, and expressed to him that $10 Million would be much too low for a fight with Ngannou.

“I had a brief phone meeting with UFC‘s lawyer Hunter a few days ago. As of right now, I expressed to him that anywhere around eight to $10 million would be way too low for a fight of this magnitude. That’s all that has been discussed so far, Jones said via TMZ.

While no official offer has been made to Jon Jones, it could mean good things that he’s already been in contact with individuals who are looking to make the Ngannou fight happen. The bad news is that it appears that Jones is wholly prepared to turn down a lot of money if he feels it still isn’t enough.

Jon Jones, like the rest of us, is currently in wait-and-see mode as it pertains to the likelihood of a heavyweight bout with Francis Ngannou.

“I’m supposed to be waiting for what their offer is going to be. Really hoping the numbers are nowhere near that low. I guess we will see what happens.”

We will see, indeed. Let’s hope the Jones-Ngannou fight ends up happening. We’ve been waiting a long time for a fight of that magnitude.
