Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons could never make it work in Philadelphia. And now, it looks like their time together is coming to an end.

After a dismal postseason, Simmons has reportedly told the Sixers’ brass that he has no intention of returning to the team next season.

To no one’s surprise, it was reported that a major part of Ben Simmons’ feelings towards the Sixers has to do with his relationship with Joel Embiid.

Apparently, the animosity was so bad that the Sixers were forced to choose between Simmons and Embiid.

Shortly after the story about Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons dropped, Embiid took to social media to combat the reports.

He took full responsibility for the Sixers failures in recent years, while commending Simmons on his basketball ability.

Joel Embiid even went as far as to say that he hopes Ben Simmons and the entire roster from last season runs it back with Philly because he knows they’re ‘good enough to win’.

While Embiid might be saying all of the right things right now, I’m sure he’ll be just fine working with a different point guard next season.

It appears that a Ben Simmons trade is on the horizon, it’s just a matter of time.
