When the New York Giants didn’t fire Joe Judge on Black Monday, many fans were frantically panicking that the team was actually considering keeping him around despite his disastrous tenure. But when the dust settled, owner John Mara made the easy decision to relieve Judge of his duties.

After he was let go, Judge’s actions indicated he was fine with the move. TMZ caught footage of a whole bunch of pizza and beer being delivered to Judge’s house on the day after the news was announced.

Joe Judge waited a bit before making any comments on his tenure in New York. But on Friday, he finally released a statement to express his gratitude towards the Giants organization.

“As I reflect on my tenure with the Giants, I want to express how truly grateful I am for the opportunity to be the head coach of the New York Giants,” Judge said. “Thank you to the Mara and Tisch families, to the organization and incredible support staff and to the fans — proud, loyal fans who rival any fanbase in sports with their passion and devotion. It was a privilege to represent these people during the past two years. Thank you for showing up week-in and week-out to support our team.”

Joe Judge finished his reign in New York with an ungodly 10-23 record. But even worse for Giants fans, they’re likely stuck in the cellar for the foreseeable future.

The team doesn’t have anywhere near a competitive roster, they likely don’t have a franchise QB, and their cap situation is a complete mess.

Good luck to whoever gets the burden of following in Joe Judge’s footsteps in New York.
