Syracuse men’s basketball coach has been in the news a couple times this season over something he has said. Recently, Boeheim went out of his way to share his feelings on Duke freshman Jalen Johnson opting out of the season.

Now, Boeheim has some words for a reporter after he criticized how Boeheim utilizes players on his bench. Matthew Gutierrez, who covers Syracuse basketball for The Athletic, tweeted that the Orange would be “somewhere around 17-5 overall” if Jesse Edwards and Kadary Richmond had played more minutes.
Jim Boeheim saw Gutierrez’s tweet, and made sure to comment after his team beat Clemson on Wednesday.

The reporter would respond to Jim Boeheim’s dig.
Boeheim says via Zoom that I have never played basketball before and I am 5-foot-2, so I am not qualified to have an opinion on Syracuse.

Right now, Joe Lunardi has the Syracuse Orange in the “first four out” category for March Madness. Maybe it’s time Jim Boeheim pays less attention to what others think, and more attention on how to get his team into the tourney. Just a thought.
