Detroit Tigers announcer Jack Morris was under fire on Tuesday night after making an insensitive joke directed at Angels superstar Shohei Ohtani.

When Ohtani was coming up to the plate, Morris appeared to use an Asian accent when saying the team needed to “be very, very careful”

On Wednesday, Bally Sports made the decision to suspend Jack Morris from all broadcasts indefinitely.

The Tigers and Bally Sports released statements on the Morris comments.

Jack Morris offered a half-assed apology when Shohei Ohtani came to the plate later in the game on Tuesday. But apparently it wasn’t enough for him to remain on the broadcasts.

In recent years we’ve had countless MLB announcers under fire over comments made on-air, and Jack Morris becomes the latest on the long list.

We’ll see if he ever gets the opportunity to call an MLB game again.
