NHL Rules In Favor Of Evander Kane After Ex-Wife Deanna Said He Was Betting On Games

San Jose Sharks star Evander Kane has had a reputation of being a hard guy to deal with in the locker room and away from the ice. But some allegations made this Summer took that to the next level.

According the Kane’s ex-wife Deanna Kane, he was illegally betting on hockey games that he was playing in.

After the NHL investigated the claim, they concluded that there was no evidence that Evander Kane was betting on NHL games.

“The investigation uncovered no evidence to corroborate Ms. Kane’s accusations that Mr. Kane bet or otherwise participated in gambling on NHL games, and no evidence to corroborate the allegations that Mr. Kane ‘threw’ games or did not put forward his best effort to help the Sharks win games,” the NHL said in a statement. “To the contrary, the evidence raises doubts about the veracity of the allegations.”

While the league now considers this “specific matter closed”, Evander Kane’s estranged wife also claims that he was abusive during their relationship.

Without getting into any details, the Sharks released a statement of their own, saying that Evander Kane would not be involved in the team’s Training Camp while they look into other allegations.

“The Sharks are aware of additional allegations that are unrelated to the National Hockey League’s initial investigation of Evander Kane,” the team said. “We take the allegations very seriously and have been in communication with the NHL. The league will continue to have our full cooperation regarding the ongoing investigation.”

Evander Kane has admitted to having gambling issues, and was forced to file for bankruptcy in the past.

There’s no timetable to when we might see him play in the NHL again.
