The NFL has honored recently deceased Dreasjon Reed. They call him a “social justice hero” and named him as one of 87 victims of “systemic racism” in our nation. Reed was shot and killed by an Indianapolis officer following a chase back in May. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says the 21-year-old fired shots at an officer in an exchange of gunfire. He also live streamed the chase.

The NFL posted about the honor for Dreasjon, and of course Twitter had a field day with it.
Say His Name: Dreasjon Reed
Dreasjon is one of the many individuals being honored by players and coaches this season through the NFL’s helmet decal program.#SayTheirStories: https://t.co/vwi75WmNxr pic.twitter.com/wWaasw6LBp— NFL (@NFL) December 16, 2020

Why is the NFL honoring a person who shot a gun at random houses at night time from a moving car, then when police tried to arrest him he shot at police? https://t.co/gcSuwym7xV

In no way should this man be honored.. it’s impressive that an organization as big as the NFL is trying to say this worthless man was good in any way😂 fucking trash https://t.co/ar7xVWOgNT

The NFL wants us to honor a criminal that live-streamed himself committing driveby shootings (with a gun he stole). He had 3 active warrants when he was killed after shooting at police.
Criminals shouldn’t be celebrated and honored.

The NFL has its heart in the right place (or its pocketbook) with their social justice initiative, but they really should think long and hard on who they’re selecting to honor. This obviously isn’t a clear cut choice.
There’s really zero positive comments coming from their latest selection.
