It’s Christmas season, which means it’s time to be lenient? NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, appearing on ESPN, said Houston Rockets star James Harden was not suspended because “The precedent is that discipline gets ratcheted up. It’s Christmas. It was a first offense.” Silver said “in a way he got lucky.” If the game had been played, Harden would have been docked 1 game’s pay.

The precedent is actually now: All 450 NBA players get one free pass to break COVID protocols. What an awful process. And this is day three of the season. https://t.co/WuA7aERKFe

“It’s the first offense” in a pandemic. This is why NBA players do whatever tf they want cause they don’t respect this loser https://t.co/SUOapv2Uu3

Damn, I wonder what the sanction is a player on Valentine's Day?… "Well, it's Valentine's Day and you know how we all get. It was his first offence, so you know…" 😳 #NBA #NBAUK https://t.co/pBJGjEIbaM

Interesting. Silver fines Harden NBPA agreed max of $50k, says it could have been worse if the game was played and he missed. It will ratchet up though. https://t.co/ydSpgwdXUf

The NBA caters to its star players like no other league. This isn’t surprising at all. What is surprising is Adam Silver using Christmas as an excuse to give him a slap on the wrist.
Tis the season.
