There’s really no other way to put it other than to say Archie Miller’s tenure as head coach of the Indiana Hoosiers was a complete disappointment. Miller went 12-15 during the 2020-21 season, and missed the NCAA Tournament for the fourth consecutive year.
Archie Miller was consistently in the bottom half of the Big Ten standings during his tenure, and went 0-7 against rival Purdue. Simply put, it was time for Archie Miller to go. However, the Hoosiers will have to eat a $10 Million buyout with the move.
Now , Hoosiers fans are thinking of potential candidates who could bring prowess back to Bloomington.
At the top of that list is Boston Celtics coach Brad Stevens. The young Celtics coach came from Butler, so he knows how to recruit in the state of Indiana. He has also been reported to be on the hot seat in Boston.
Hoosiers fans have flocked to social media to share their hope that the team somehow lands Brad Stevens as their next head coach.

The Archie Miller news just hit my office and the first name mentioned as his replacement is Brad Stevens and I’m fucking losing it.
“The guy I’ve heard is Brad Stevens” was said out loud in my presence and I didn’t bust out laughing. pic.twitter.com/kCZbBXCNBS

If I’m Indiana: Brad Stevens is my first phone call. Once he says no John Beilein is my second call.

I’m not sure Brad Stevens will leave Boston to go to the Indiana Hoosiers, but we can let fans dream. I’m also not sure Baylor coach Scott Drew (whose name has also been tossed around for the job) would leave his post at Baylor for an IU team in need of an overhaul.
If anything, I could see Brad Stevens landing another NBA job if he gets canned from the Celtics gig. He is still widely respected in the NBA, and viewed as someone who is particularly skilled at growing young players.
It would be fun to see Brad Stevens back in college basketball, though. Who knows, maybe he has an itch for it.
