Hassan Whiteside Had No Idea Hawaii Was Part Of The United States Of America

Like the rest of us, Portland big man, Hassan Whiteside, was watching the presidential debate on Tuesday night. Not happy with the way the debate went, Whiteside tweeted that he was moving to Hawaii. But there’s a catch. The Portland big wants to move to Hawaii to get out of America.

So here’s the real catch: Whiteside claims that the tweet was photoshopped and that it was not actually 9:36 p.m. where he was at.

I have no idea where in the world Whiteside is. He could be in China for all I know. But that is not the issue. If true, Whiteside clearly doesn’t understand time zones or geography. Hawaii is hours away from Portland, however, it is still part of the United States of America. There are several other places Whiteside could go if he wants to get out of America. He’s got the right idea, but clearly he just doesn’t quite understand the whole location part of it.

The presidential debate was a big enough clown show on its own. I didn’t think anything would be able to top it. And then Whiteside decided to tweet. It was good comedic relief, but man, tough L for Whiteside on this one. Look, Whiteside, if you want to get out of America, go to Canada. If you move to Canada you can still do what you do best. Grab rebounds. I am fairly confident Whiteside knows the Toronto Raptors hail from Canada. But now I am not sure whether or not he knows Canada isn’t actually part of the United States of America.
