Gisele Bundchen Doubles Down Her Infamous Quote From The 2012 Super Bowl

Tom Brady's longtime supermodel wife, Gisele Bundchen, took to social media to react to the news that her husband was retiring from the NFL after 22 seasons

Tom Brady’s wife, Gisele Bundchen, doesn’t weigh in too much on his football career. But that wasn’t always the case.

In the waning moments of the upset loss to Eli Manning’s Giants, Wes Welker had a drop that likely turned the outcome around.

After the game, Gisele Bunchen was seen yelling at fans as she was leaving the stadium that Tom Brady could not possibly win the game with receivers who weren’t able of catching the ball in big moments.

“You need to catch the ball when you’re supposed to catch the ball,” Bundchen shouted while trying to exit Lucas Oil Stadium following the Patriots’ loss in Super Bowl XLVI via Bro Bible. “My husband cannot f–king throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time.”

During an appearance on Tom Brady’s newest docuseries “Man in the Arena”, Gisele Bundchen opened up on what led to her quote.

“We have to go and walk to the freaking elevator, and these guys, who probably had a few drinks [in] them, as well, were like, ‘Your husband sucks! Eli Manning owns your husband! He’s old, he’s got to retire! Just tell him to go home and cry like a baby,’” Bundchen explained.

Gisele also doubled down on her quote, refusing to say she had any regrets about the moment.

“I thought I was, like, mild on what I said,” Bundchen said, according to NESN. “I mean, it’s true. How can he do everything? He can’t catch and throw the ball at the same time. That’s just a fact. I knew how hurt he was going to be, and you don’t want somebody saying that about your husband.”

She also said that she never meant to make the quote about Wes Welker. And was upset that it was perceived that way.

“The next morning, when they made it about Wes, it broke my heart, because I was like, are you kidding me? That’s, like, the hardest-working guy I know on that team.”

Luckily for Gisele, Tom Brady has gone on to win four Super Bowls since the 2012 loss. And he’s had plenty of help from some elite pass-catchers along the way.
