Giannis Antetokounmpo is still on top of the world after leading the underrated Bucks to an NBA Championship last season.

And with the ring comes added popularity and many, many profiles and interviews.

In one of those long profiles, Giannis Antetokounmpo sat down with GQ for a cover piece – where he opened up on his goals, dreams, what makes him tick, etc.

When asked about what could be next for him, Giannis admitted that his journey might eventually take him out of Milwaukee.

“I just love challenges. What’s the next challenge? The next challenge might not be here. Me and my family chose to stay in this city that we all love and has taken care of us—for now. In two years, that might change. I’m being totally honest with you,” he said.

It’s important not to take the Giannis Antetokoumpo quote out of context. He still has years remaining on his mega-contract that he signed prior to last season, and the Greek Freak wouldn’t hit the open market until 2026 if he plays out the entire deal.

But as we’ve seen all over the NBA, players have a certain way of getting out of a situation if they really want to.

For now, Giannis Antetokounmpo has his sights fully set on repeating as NBA Champions. But perhaps he’s leaving the door open to take on another opportunity somewhere down the road.
