George Kittle Makes Sarcastic Joke About Kyle Shanahan’s Answer On Jimmy Garoppolo

Tight end George Kittle doesn’t appear to be very scared that the 49ers might trade him before or during the NFL Draft this Thursday. Jimmy Garoppolo on the other hand? Might not be as safe.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan was asked if Jimmy Garoppolo would be on the Niners come Sunday, and he had this interesting response.

“I can’t guarantee anyone in the world will be alive Sunday,” said Shanahan tongue in-cheek.

In response, George Kittle wanted his coach to know that he was pretty confident that he’d be alive Sunday.

With the 49ers trading up to the #3 overall pick in Thursday’s draft, they are certain to be taking a QB that Shanahan and the team’s brass believes will replace Jimmy Garoppolo.

Now, they could still hold on to Jimmy G for the time being, and let their draft pick learn the system before throwing him into the fire. But if another team offers a nice package for Garoppolo, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Niners dish him.

George Kittle will likely have a new quarterback very soon, and he’s enjoyed some pretty good seasons playing with Jimmy Garoppolo. I’m sure he has mixed feelings about the direction the Niners are taking, and he’s not afraid to make some jokes about it.
