The Javier Baez era is done in Chicago, as he’ll be joining fellow Puerto Rican Francisco Lindor on the New York Mets.

Just this week, Javier Baez was saying how he’d like to play with Francisco Lindor if he were to leave the Chicago Cubs during this offseason. Now, he’ll get his wish a little bit earlier.

Shortly after the news broke, Francisco Lindor was trending all over social media, with everyone talking about the best friends duo making up the Mets’ new double play combination.

While Javier Baez is a top-of-the-line defensive shortstop, he’ll likely move over to second base with Francisco Lindor holding down short in New York for the next eight years.

Since Steve Cohen bought the Mets last year he has made his intentions very clear – he’s going to spend as much money as need be to bring a World Series to Queens.

First he made the big splash by landing Francisco Lindor, and now its Javier Baez joining the party.

Something tells me the Mets aren’t even done yet. Stay tuned…
