Former Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson has excuses upon excuses on why things didn’t work out for him with the team. Very seldom does Jackson take any accountability for anything that went wrong in Cleveland.

On Wednesday, the disgruntled former coach was at it again, trying to clear his name of any wrong doing. In fact, Hue Jackson actually said that he was the reason why the Browns made a good decision in the NFL Draft.

Jackson went on the “Pass It Down” podcast with NFL Network’s Mike Silver, and talked about how he was the reason why the Browns selected defensive end Myles Garrett over Mitchell Trubisky in the 2017 draft.

For Hue Jackson to take so much credit for this is a little lame to me. Prior to the 2017 draft, pretty much every mock draft had Myles Garrett going #1 to the Cleveland Browns. It wasn’t like it took some stroke of genius for someone to look at Garrett and see a generational talent.

For Hue Jackson to act like he was really a great talent evaluator because he said something that every analyst around the NFL was saying is pretty crazy. Nobody had Mitchell Trubisky going #1 in that draft. If Jackson had to convince front office people to take Garrett, then that is a reflection of the front office, not Jackson.

It really seems like Hue Jackson is pulling out all the stops to land another head coaching job in the NFL. I don’t think it’s gonna work.
