FIFA made their statement regarding the Russia national soccer team this weekend as they said that they would allow the team to play, but will not be playing games in Russia.

Multiple teams came out this weekend saying that they will not play against the Russia national team following the attacks on Ukraine.

England, Poland, Czech Republic, Sweden, and many other nations have stated that they will not take the field against Russia.

FIFA stated that they will allow the Russian team to compete but would not allow the team to fly their flag, nor will they play the national anthem. The team will also have to play under the Football Union of Russia moniker.

Many athletes from various sports and Russian athletes have come out to protest the attacks on Ukraine from Russia.

The 2022 World Cup is scheduled to take place at the end of the year from November 21st – December 18th in Qatar.

Russia was scheduled to play against Poland, Czech Republic, and Sweden in a 4 team playoff leading up to the World Cup, but all of those teams will now refuse to play against the country.
