This March Madness is going to be all about Duke’s Coach K.
Prior to the season, he announced that this season would be his last at the program, handing over the reigns to assistant and former player, John Scheyer. And when he’s gone, he’s never returning to the game. At least that’s what he’s saying.
During an interview on Thursday, Coach K claimed that he will not be maintaining some control of the Duke program, despite some reports out there.
“I will have nothing to do with our basketball program,” Krzyzewski said, according to CBS Sports’ Matt Norlander. “This is not about me … [Things have been said] where I’m trying to maintain control. That could not be further from the truth. It was mine for 42 years, but it’s Duke’s forever.”
Coach K would go on to (jokingly) say he won’t be attending games because there would be no where for him to sit in the stadium.
Coach K on the future: "I won't be at games. Where would I sit? I'm not going to hover over everything. Everybody needs their space … but right now, this is still my space. And I'm gonna try to finish out in a good place."

In his final season, Coach K has Duke on the verge of another ACC Championship. He will undoubtedly be celebrated this weekend, when the Blue Devils welcome their bitter rival, North Carolina, for the legendary head coach’s final game at home.
But after that, it’s back to business. Duke has all the makings of a National Championship-caliber team, and they’ll undoubtedly be picked in many brackets across the country.
It would be one hell of a story if Coach K was able to muster up one last title run before he resorts to retirement life.
