Everyone Is Convinced James Franklin Is Leaving Penn State After His Latest Comments

James Franklin's comments this week were the nail in the coffin, as fans are now fully convinced he's leaving Penn State after the year

It sure appears that James Franklin has one foot out the door at Penn State.

The head coach has led the program to being a consistent competitor in the Big Ten since he took over eight seasons ago. And now, he’s being heavily linked to the jobs at LSU and USC.

When asked, James Franklin has given roundabout answers, not confirming or denying his interest.

But as time has gone on, James Franklin has continuously been given the opportunity to commit to Penn State. And so far, he has opted not to do so.

This week, Franklin had some more comments that led fans to believe he was eyeing a position elsewhere.

“I think I have shown my loyalty to this team, to this this program, to this community,” he said, before going on to say that there are “a lot of moving parts with all of these things.”

At one point this season, James Franklin’s Nittany Lions were considered a real threat to make the College Football Playoff. But after losses to Iowa and Illinois, the team is now just hoping they can claw their way back to the top of the Big Ten.

The road won’t get any easier for Penn State, too. They’ll head to Columbus this Halloween weekend to take on the tall task of defeating the Buckeyes on the road.

It seems like James Franklin is intent on sticking around through the end of the season. But after that, all bets are off.

My guess is that he’ll land at USC.
