Fans Want To See Cincinnati Free Joey Votto After The Team Makes Telling Offseason Moves

Fans are calling on the Cincinnati Reds to free Joey Votto after they've made it clear that they're not serious about building a contender in the near future

Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto has given his heart and soul to the team and city, playing his entire storied career in the same place.

But Votto isn’t getting any younger. And after the Reds have made an indication that 2022 will be a rebuilding year, people want to see Cincy give Joey a shot at winning a championship in another city.

The Reds have proved they aren’t serious about building a winner around Joey Votto in 2022 after making their intentions clear that they’re not looking to sign Nick Castellanos. And they also let key rotational piece, Wade Miley, go via waivers on Friday.

As aforementioned, Votto has played his entire 15 year career in Cincinnati, but it would seem likely that he would relish the opportunity to join a team serious about winning.

In 2021, the Reds legend proved that he still has plenty left in the tank, hitting 36 home runs in just 126 games played.

If the Reds are considering entering another rebuild, they should start by shopping Joey Votto around.
