Fans Are Wondering Why Kevin Sumlin Still Has A Job After Arizona Lost 70-7 To Rival Arizona State Last Night

Kevin Sumlin has to be on the hot seat, right? In an absolutely embarrassing effort, Sumlin’s Arizona Wildcats got waxed by their in-state rival Arizona State 70-7 last night. The worst part? Arizona State really isn’t even good. Both teams came into the game winless, and the Sun Devils only put up 18 points against UCLA last weekend.

It is in fact reported today that Sumlin’s job is in ‘serious jeopardy’.

While Kevin Sumlin may very well be on his way out, that wasn’t good enough for many Arizona fans. They want to see him gone right now after letting his team losing by over 60 in a rivalry game. Some people even wanted to see Arizona fire Sumlin at halftime.

Get in Some Sideaction:

Sumlin has a decent track record. He did some good things at Texas A&M, but a lot of that was due to having Johnny Manziel as his quarterback. Turns out, Sumlin is a pretty bad football coach.

Arizona was a decently respectable program before Sumlin arrived, and he has effective turned them into a joke. You simply cannot lose by 60 points to your biggest rival. That’s the type of stuff that ticks off the boosters more than anything. Sumlin can probably start packing his bags and looking for him next job. I don’t envy the next Arizona coach, who will be given the tall task of picking up the pieces of a truly broken program.
