Mick Schumacher, son of the legendary F1 racer Michael Schumacher, was taken away in an ambulance following a nasty crash in Qualifying on Saturday at the STC Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

Schumacher is a racer for the HAAS F1 team and finished in 11th place at the season-opening racer in Bahrain last weekend.

Mick was unable to finish a flying lap in the second portion of qualifying after his car was totaled in a high-speed accident at Turn 12.

Here is a video of the accident.

Schumacher was conscious at the scene but was helped out of the car by medical professionals and was quickly taken away to the hospital.

Schumacher was then airlifted out to a hospital.

Watching the race, announcers said that he “appeared to be physically fine, but is being taken to hospital for scans.”

That is good news as many in the F1 community looked extremely worried about the health of Schumacher after his accident.

It would not be surprising to see Schumacher replaced by another driver on Sunday for the STC Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
