Things could get a little awkward between Kirk Cousins and Everson Griffen this season.

Griffen made news earlier in the offseason when he took to social media to claim his former teammate, Kirk Cousins, was ‘ass’ and that coach Mike Zimmer didn’t want the QB to begin with.

As luck would have it, the Vikings made their signing of Everson Griffen official on Monday, meaning him and Kirk Cousins will be teammates, yet again.

Everson Griffen had his press conference with the Minnesota media on Monday, and of course, he was asked about his comments towards Kirk Cousins.

Griffen kept his answer short, but said he planned to talk to the veteran quarterback.

The Vikings were said to have been in the quarterback market this offseason, and were even tied to Justin Fields before the Bears selected him in the NFL Draft.

The Vikings would go on to select quarterback Kellen Mond, who will likely need some time before he’s ready to step into the starter’s role.

So Everson Griffen will once again have to hope that Kirk Cousins can do the job for him in Minnesota. I’d be interested to hear how the apology conversation goes.
