It appears that Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator, Eric Bieniemy, will be passed up again during this year’s head coach hiring cycle. But that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s going to be staying in Kansas City.
According to a report, Bieniemy may be looking for an opportunity to call plays as an OC somewhere else with his contract with the Chiefs set to expire.
“#Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy’s contract is expiring, per sources. So after getting passed over for head coaching opportunities again, Bieniemy could either return to Kansas City or be a hot free-agent OC target elsewhere,” NFL insider Tom Pelissero wrote.

Eric Bieniemy has been the Chiefs offensive coordinator since Matt Nagy left to become the Bears head coach prior to the start of the 2018 season.
For the past few seasons, Bieniemy has been a hot name in the list of potential head coaches. But for whatever reason, he hasn’t landed a head coaching gig despite various interviews.
Perhaps Eric Bieniemy thinks that his best chance of advancing in the NFL is to take full control of an offense away from KC; somewhere where he won’t be in Andy Reid’s shadow.
