Eloy Jimenez’s Defense Is In Question Again After He Got Hurt Trying To Rob A Home Run

Chicago White Sox slugger Eloy Jimenez has insisted that he’d like to play the field, and not be a DH. However, his defensive blooper reel is a sight for sore eyes for all Sox fans, and it isn’t getting any better. Not only is Eloy Jimenez a detriment to his team in left field, but also himself.

Eloy tried robbing a home run during the team’s Spring Training game today. Not only did he come up empty, but he also came up hurt.

Fans took to social media to continue a long conversation about what Eloy Jimenez should and shouldn’t be doing on a baseball field.

The White Sox gave an update on Eloy’s condition, saying he suffered ‘shoulder discomfort’ after the play, and will provide an update tomorrow.

While the White Sox would like to keep their DH position open for prospect Andrew Vaughn, it might not be a decision. If Eloy Jimenez can’t keep himself healthy while playing left field, they won’t have a choice but to pencil him in as DH on a consistent basis.
