Eagles WR Marquise Goodwin has opted out of the 2020 NFL season due to COVID concerns, which has prompted some ignorant fans to call him “stupid.”
Goodwin had a point blank response on Twitter to such fans.
I’ve gotten so many messages and @‘s from “concerned” fans telling me how stupid I am and that this COVID-19 isn’t that serious… I bet my bank account that there are 150k dead people that would argue different. #CarryOn

For Goodwin, it was an easy decision to opt out. Goodwin and his wife have dealt with their fair share of tragedy just in the last three years, having lost a son born prematurely in 2017 and unborn twin boys in 2018. Now with a healthy five-month old girl, Goodwin refuses to take any chances.
Goodwin would have been entering his first season with the Eagles. The former track star has been in the NFL since 2013 with the Bills and most recently the 49ers, amassing just over 2,300 career receiving yards.
