Getting hit by a golf ball cannot be fun, no matter what the range. And if you’re working on a professional golf course it’s probably a good idea to look out when guys are teeing off on your hole. That advice was lost when a volunteer at the Suadi International took a hit from Dustin Johnson’s drive. A volunteer working the event was struck in the back and dropped immediately after being hit. The announcers downplayed it by saying “he’s just fine”, however, it looked pretty bad.

Twitter users quickly erupted after the incident took place.

“I think it got him on the padding, he’s getting up quick,” the broadcaster said. “You can take away the pain, but you can’t take away the swelling. He’s just fine.”

At least check in on the poor man before letting everyone know that he’s fine. I don’t know about you, but to me rolling around in pain isn’t exactly an indication that someone is “fine”. Thankfully, it appeared that the volunteer was alright eventually. But declaring him fine while he stumbling around was a bold move. Even with some sort of padding that still could not have felt very good. I certainly wouldn’t volunteer to take that shot, at least.
