Rockies Confirm Fan Was Calling For “Dinger” Mascot And Not Saying Racial Slur During Hot-Mic Moment

The Colorado Rockies concluded their investigation about a fan who was accused of yelling a racial slur but actually was just calling for the mascot, Dinger

The fan was shouting for “Dinger” after all.

During the Colorado Rockies game on Sunday, fans watching the game on TV were upset after the feed appeared to pick up a fan shouting a racial slur at Marlins outfielder Lewis Brinson.

However, after breaking down the video it became pretty obvious that the fan was shouting at Rockies mascot, Dinger, who was hanging out one section over.

Sure enough, the Rockies admitted after investigating the incident that the fan was, indeed, shouting for Dinger, and not overly concerned with what was happening on the field.

During the game, Lewis Brinson and other players on the field admitted that they didn’t hear anything offensive. But after Twitter users were fully convinced that the fan said the N-Word (not realizing Dinger was hanging around), the Rockies had no choice but to open an investigation.

Luckily, we got to the bottom of the whole “Dinger” ordeal.

After all this media attention I sure hope that the dude was able to get the mascot’s attention during the game, at least.
