Diego Armando Maradona is dead. No, this isn’t some sort of joke or rumour-mongering, because it’s really true. And it is so heart-rending.

The 1986 World Cup winner had suffered from one too many ailments in recent times and according to Clarin, he was a victim of cardiac arrest just two weeks after undergoing an operation for a blood clot on the brain.

However, he was discharged from hospital care on 12th November following what was a successful emergency procedure a week earlier.

It is sad to learn thereafter, that his recuperation has not gone according to plan after all, and the subdural haematoma he was diagnosed with has ultimately claimed the life of the legendary footballer.

Right now, I feel this is the worst of what the year have in store. Like yeah. Can it get any worse? Very unlikely.

Maradona was undoubtedly one of the greatest players to have ever played the game of football. Controversial but yet a lovable character, the news of his demise has drawn reactions from all corners and most notably, from his former allegiances..

Rest on, Champ. You will be sorely missed.
