Nick Foles has not been an answer for what has been a stagnant Bears offense under Matt Nagy. Now, it appears there is a clear disconnect between Nagy and the veteran Foles. ESPN’s Brian Griese shared this tidbit during the Bears embarrassing 24-10 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
Here’s the Brian Griese clip @JasonLieser tweeted about, with Nick Foles apparently telling the ESPN production crew there are plays Nagy calls on which Foles knows he doesn’t “have time to execute that playcall.” pic.twitter.com/xvNpSD3tHs

“Sometimes play calls come in, and I know that I don’t have time to execute that play call,” Griese claims Foles said to him the night before.
WHAT?
The Bears quarterback literally just said that he doesn’t trust the plays before they even start? That sounds like a huge red flag for a Bears team that is still technically in playoff contention. Twitter was blowing up, and everyone has an opinion on Nagy and Foles.
Brian Griese just said that Nick Foles told the ESPN crew that sometimes Nagy sends in a play call and Foles already knows it won't work because he won't have enough time after the snap. That's something.

That’s also on Foles for a lack of mobility and agility. And I am not a Nagy-defender in the slightest, but having a statue QB is such a crazy disadvantage these days. Bears are better off going back to Trubisky and letting him actually use his athleticism whenever applicable.

How was this only talked about at the back end of a blowout? This is a crazy comment to just gloss over

Griese elaborated on what he said during Sportscenter With Scott Van Pelt.
thankfully Griese elaborated on these comments with @notthefakeSVP after the game
more context on the origin of Foles frustration & why he’s taking so many check downs on deeper drops
ultimately feels like he blames it on both Nagy’s scheme and the o-line’s health pic.twitter.com/VjySdGQEFB

“It’s really disheartening as a quarterback when a play call comes in and you know, maybe it’s a 5 or a 7 step drop, and you know that once you get back to your fifth step or your seventh step, you don’t even have time to take the hits to get rid of the football,” Griese says.
It certainly sounds like this was a very real conversation that Brian Griese has had with Nick Foles. Terrible optics going on here. Foles has now played in four games as QB of the Chicago Bears, and he already feels the need to roast the head coach behind his back. Is the play calling that bad? Is Nick Foles the Problem? Honestly, it’s probably a little bit of both.
Here’s what Nagy had to say when asked about Foles’ comments.
Matt Nagy's response: "We've never had that conversation… I don't know. You'll have [ask Foles]… Nick and I have a pretty good relationship and he hasn't said that. I'm sure he'll explain what he meant by that."

One thing is for certain, Foles and Nagy need to get on the same page, and fast, or this Bears team is going no where.
