The Indiana Hoosiers finally pulled the plug on head basketball coach Archie Miller today after his disappointing four seasons at the helm. During his tenure, Archie Miller failed to make the NCAA Tournament every year, went 0-7 against rival Purdue, and finished 12-15 in 2020-21. Needless to say, Hoosier fans were pretty happy to see Archie Miller go.
Fans have even shared their desire for the team to land top-of-the-line guys such as Brad Stevens or Baylor’s Scott Drew.

Indiana was forced to pay Archie Miller a $10 Million buyout after firing him. It has since been reported that an unidentified booster paid for the entire buyout. This has led many people to believe that proud IU alumnus and basketball fanatic Mark Cuban was involved with Archie Millers’ firing.
Dolson says he will NOT hire a search firm, which suggests he has a line on someone already. But he told me he does not have a line on someone, and isn't concerned with the hire being an IU guy or not. Doesn't want to exclude anyone, he says. Even those without HC experience.

Well, IU AD just Scott Dolson just volunteered the school's "Cuban Center" as something that attracts student-athletes. Scott's a smart guy. I'm guessing name-dropping Mark Cuban's financial support was no accident.

I’ve sent Mark Cuban a thank you message whether he was the booster or not

If you ever go on shark tank and don’t get an offer, try not to think about Mark Cuban paying Archie Miller $10m to no longer work https://t.co/g0Uej34UXV

Hey @mcuban thank you for presumably being one of the two boosters who either helped get rid of Archie Miller or paying for helping hire the next coach.
And even if you weren’t involved.. we know you wanted to anyways ❤️🤍 #IUBB

We may never know if Mark Cuban was actually one of the two massively rich boosters who helped pave the way for the Archie Miller dismissal. But it is kind of fun to just assume that Mark Cuban had a stake in the game here.
I mean, it does make sense.
