Dick Vitale Rips North Carolina Students For Vulgar Chant Directed At Coach K

Dick Vitale had a message for North Carolina students after they directed a vulgar chant at Coach K during his last game at Chapel Hill

Coach K had his last game in Chapel Hill this past weekend, and as you can imagine, North Carolina fans weren’t exactly classy to their longtime rival in his final sendoff.

Throughout Duke’s blowout win over UNC, students were heard through the ESPN broadcast chanting, “f-k Coach K”.

After Coach K’s Duke squad mopped the floor with North Carolina, Dick Vitale shared a message to all the North Carolina fans who decided to go nasty for the final game for Coach K.

“The profanity at the @UNC_Basketballvs @DukeMBBgame was a disgrace / the F_____ Coach K chants were classless . No place for that ; I know UNC is better than that / it was pathetic & as @JFeinsteinBookssaid DEAN SMITH would have never tolerated it ,” Vitale said on Twitter.

Dick Vitale clearly shares the same sentiment that Coach K had when Duke students started a similar chant against Pitt coach Jeff Capel during a game last season.

Dick Vitale is right about the classless chant directed at Coach K. But at the end of the day, these are college kids…can we really expect anything different?
