Prior to Kobe Bryant’s passing, he was taking young star Devin Booker under his wing. Now, throughout the postseason, Booker has been putting the Phoenix Suns on his back, with clutch performances becoming the norm.

Prior to the NBA finals, Booker revealed what he thought Kobe would have told him in that moment.

On the brink of a win or go home Game 6, Devin Booker spoke on Kobe Bryant’s impact on his career. But he also mentioned that he doesn’t think people are right the compare him to The Mamba.

“I should never be compared to Kobe Bryant,” Booker said.

Devin Booker is trying to channel Kobe’s mentality on the basketball court as much as he can, and he’s doing a pretty damn good job of it during the 2021 postseason. Despite his unstoppable offensive performances, Booker’s Suns have let a 2-0 lead against the Bucks turn against them.

They now face the daunting task of trying to force a Game 7 on the road in Milwaukee on Tuesday night.

If the Suns want to win the championship this season, they’ll likely need Devin Booker to play like his idol and mentor, Kobe Bryant.
