Deshaun Watson’s Personal Coach Wonders Why Carson Wentz Can Get Traded but His Guy Can’t

When Deshaun Watson asked for a trade, Houston did not immediately grant him his wish. To this day, the Texans have maintained that they have no plans of trading Deshaun, and they think they can still make it right with their quarterback.

Meanwhile, Carson Wentz asks for a trade, and gets his wish. Wentz was traded to the Indianapolis Colts today, a team he was hoping to go to. Now, Deshaun Watson’s coach wants answers.

Watson’s personal coach, Quincy Avery, had some things to say to the Texans organization after the Wentz deal.

“What’s the criteria for a quarterback asking to get traded, then actually getting traded? Asking for a friend,” Avery wrote on his Twitter.

I think the biggest answer to Avery is that Deshaun Watson is simply better than Carson Wentz. The Eagles were ready to move on from Wentz. The Lions were willing to let Matthew Stafford go make a run for a ring after giving the organization so much over the years. Fair or not, the Texans still view Deshaun Watson as their future.

With that being said, they’re going to do everything in their power to try to change Watson’s mind about wanting out. I doubt they’ll be successful, though.

It seems like we’re headed for a standoff between Deshaun Watson and the Texans.
